The wait is almost over! Only 1 week until the start of the Grasping Globalization National Youth Conference!

Delegtes: You should be nearly done with your research, feel free to contact our office if you have any questions.

Please Note these Important Announcements


· Conference registration is between 5:30pm and 6:30pm at Shadow Lake Centre on Wednesday, February 27th, 2002. The conference begins at 6:30p.m. sharp on Wednesday, and delegates are asked to please arrive well before this time. The conference ends at 1:30p.m. on Sunday, March 3rd. Delegates will be provided with lunch on this day.

· Bedding: The sleeping quarters at the Shadow Lake Centre are heated cabins with bunk beds and bare mattresses. DELEGATES MUST BRING THEIR OWN BEDDING. Two flat sheets (or one flat, one fitted), a pillow, and comforter or sleeping bag is suggested. Please be advised that we are not able to provide bedding for delegates who forget to bring any.

· Talent show: On the Saturday night at the conference there will be a talent show (all talents welcome!). All delegates are welcome to bring any instruments or props they require to share their amazing talents with the other delegates!

One Week To Go!
The anticipation has begun, and the waiting time almost over. In one week, youth delegates will meet from across Canada to learn and then take action to shape globalization as they would like it to be.

Speakers!
Delegates can expect a knowledgeable and distinguished panel of experts who will speak at the conference, including representatives from Opportunities International, the Maquila Solidarity Network, and OXFAM, to name only a few. Delegates can look forward to keynote addresses from Craig Kielburger, the founder of Kids Can Free the Children, Ben Chin of CBC Newsdesk, and Professor Jonathan White of Colby College in Maine. Leaders Today, the leading international youth leadership organization of its kind, will help delagtes sharpen their public speaking, leadership, and media relations skills.
